Job Description:
Tech-Operations Engineering Student
Location: Sault Ste. Marie or Toronto
Duration: Summer (May – August 2026)
Type: Student Full Time
Range: $18.50 - $28.50
We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate to work on innovative projects that improve OLG's technology operations. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with teams to create automated testing solutions, contributing to performance testing strategies, and supporting Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, working on release automation and overall environment support. You'll gain hands-on experience with test automation, performance testing, and SRE, while having exposure to various modern technologies such as cloud platforms, AI, and containerization in a fast-paced environment.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Sr Manager Automation Engineering, you will be empowered to:
Develops and deploys proof of concepts, prototypes and evaluates opportunities to leverage agile methodologies and tools
Develops and maintains code and configuration repositories to ensure code is centrally monitored/managed.
Develops automation scripts for frameworks following data driven object orientated or behavior driven programming methodology.
Collaborates with testers, operations, user acceptance testers, and solutions delivery for intake and maintenance of developed automation.
Provide technical operational expertise for creation, utilization and execution of test plan; implements additions and changes as planned to meet project timelines.
Prepares documentation and other relevant information of developed automation solutions to ensure knowledge transfer between team members, visibility into coverage and overall solution effectiveness.
Provides feedback and actively develops automation framework components for team use with regards to automation execution of team.
Actively contributes to code review processes within team to ensure Automation governance and application of standards.
Provides technical feedback regarding industry standards relating to CICD implementation of test automation as well as quality control practices in agile methodologies.
Have knowledge of the conception that Test automation is a quality gate for application release.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, preferably in an information system, application and or automation development, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
An aptitude for learning on the job
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use critical thinking to inform effective decision making
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment that requires comfort with ambiguity
Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
