General Area of Responsibility

The Technical Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating the technical department and complying with the maintenance & repair and related budget. He/she will provide specialized support to the team ashore and on board, to ensure a safe, optimal and operational fleet of tugboats, and manage and implement projects that improve the performance and cost efficiency of the fleet.

Specific Area of Responsibility

Main tasks will be:

• Lead the technical superintendents and maintenance & repair team
• Plan and manage the maintenance program of the fleet to ensure that tugs, machinery and equipment are maintained according to the established standards, preventive maintenance and repairs are carried out in an efficient and timely manner and rules and regulations are met and complied with
• Motivate change and innovation to ensure that tugs remain in operation
• Implement timely and cost-efficient initiatives to carry out preventive maintenance to minimize the vessel's out-of-service hours.
• Provide financial analysis related to the maintenance, spares and consumption of lubricants and oil.
• Manage and supervise the requisition to order reception process related to technical purchases.
• Analyze, project and optimize the budget of the technical department.
• Lead specific case-by-case projects (improvements, acquisitions, drydocking, etc.)
• Perform other ad hoc tasks as needed.
