Position Summary

The VP, Investment Operations - IC will play a senior role in the implementation and ongoing management of the firm’s investment data operating model as part of a major transformation to deploy a new enterprise data management platform. This role will be hands-on role in implementation of the firm’s new investment data management platform and building out and operationalizing supporting processes. The role supports daily IBOR production, investment activities, middle-office workflows, and downstream reporting by ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of investment data. This position sits at the intersection of operations, data, and technology, managing data workflows, resolve exceptions, support platform enhancements, and drive automation and data quality improvements across Clearwater, Palantir Foundry, and related systems. This role will work across Front Office, Technology, Risk, Operations, and external vendors to build a scalable, well-governed data ecosystem supporting the firm’s growth.

 

What You Will Do:

Leadership and Strategy

  • Implement the investment data operations strategy, aligned to the firm’s platform transformation roadmap.
  • Refine and implement the target operating model (TOM) for data management, covering governance, data quality, workflows, SLAs, and team structure.
  • Mentor a team of data operations analysts, data stewards, and data quality specialists.

Data Platform Implementation and Support

  • Business Lead driving the rollout of the new data management platform, collaborating with technology, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Participate in platform testing, UAT, and data migration activities as enhancements are rolled out.
  • Business lead data migration, testing, and change management for transition to the new system.
  • Integrate and use Palantir Foundry to support data pipelines, data products, and operational workflows.
  • Manage the book of work to implement new functionality ensuring aligned to business priorities

Investment Data Operations and Delivery

  • Support daily IBOR production and data availability for Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, and Reporting teams.
  • Design and oversee procedures to monitor, validate, and reconcile key datasets including positions, transactions, prices, corporate actions, and reference data.
  • Investigate and resolve data breaks and exceptions within defined SLAs.
  • Own the daily production processes that ensure clean, accurate, and complete data for investment and operational use cases.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of data to downstream consumers (feeds / reports)
  • Implement and manage workflow and issue resolution capabilities
  • Ensure strong controls around security master, pricing, corporate actions, reference data, positions, transactions, exposures, and derived datasets.
  • Manage operational SLAs with custodians, vendors, pricing providers, market data vendors, and internal teams.

Data Quality, Controls and Governance

  • Implement and execute data quality checks and support ongoing data quality frameworks.
  • Maintain documentation for data processes, controls, and known issues.
  • Support audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements related to investment data.
  • Escalate material data issues appropriately and contribute to root-cause analysis.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes using platform features, AI/ML tools, or workflow enhancements.
  • Support the use of AI-enabled tools (e.g. anomaly detection, intelligent exception management, metadata creation).
  • Contribute ideas and requirements for process simplification and operational scalability.
  • Develop and lead adoption of new data use cases and self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure data processes scale as the firm grows into new asset classes, geographies, and regulatory regimes.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Finance, and Technology teams to resolve data issues and to understand data needs and ensure reliable delivery.
  • Liaise with custodians, pricing vendors, and data providers to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Provide operational insight and feedback to platform and technology teams.
  • Work closely with Investment Accounting, Risk, Treasury, and other key internal stakeholders to manage data handoffs as define and track SLAs

 

What You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Deep understanding of:
    • IBOR concepts and investment life cycle data
    • Positions, transactions, cash, pricing and corporate actions
    • Multi-Asset investment data with deep working knowledge of Private Credit, Private Equity, CML/RML, Derivatives and Structured/ Securitized Products
    • Pricing, corporate actions, and a deep understanding of Security Master data
    • Experience supporting Investment, Risk , exposure or regulatory reporting would be helpful
    • Understanding of LDI and reinsurance structures would be beneficial
  • Experience delivering data to Investment teams, middle office, performance, treasury, risk and reporting teams

Platform and Technology Experience

  • Exposure to Palantir Foundry, modern data platforms, or data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience working with Clearwater Analytics and/or similar investment data platforms .
  • Demonstrated ability to actively participate in complex UAT, define business requirements, and partner with technology teams.
  • Awareness or practical use of AI/ML tools in data operations or analytics contexts is an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL would be very beneficial

The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.  

Base Salary Range
$180,000$210,000 USD
