Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, public policy, public health administration, organizational leadership, regulatory affairs, criminal justice, finance, accounting, legal studies, political science, government administration, or another job-related field; plus five years of progressively responsible professional experience in regulatory administration, compliance oversight, enforcement management, operational leadership, governmental program administration, licensing administration, policy implementation, financial oversight, or another closely related field. Experience must include direct supervision of professional staff. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading organizational change or operational improvement initiatives. Experience implementing new systems, process automation, workflow redesign, or modernization projects. Experience with licensing, compliance, financial, or case management systems. Experience using data analysis and reporting tools to support operational decision-making. Experience aligning operational practices with compliance requirements and internal control standards. Familiarity with alcohol regulation or other regulated industries.
Other: Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks, internal controls, revenue operations, governmental administration, and business process improvement. Ability to interpret statutes, rules, and regulatory requirements and translate them into operational processes. Ability to design, document, and improve workflows in a structured and scalable manner.
Ability to evaluate systems and identify opportunities for automation and modernization. Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends, risks, and operational improvement opportunities. Ability to supervise professional staff and coordinate work across multiple functional areas. Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate independently within a regulatory environment.
Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, alcohol regulation, or related licensing and compliance programs is beneficial but not required. The Commission recognizes that many of the technical aspects of liquor regulation can be learned on the job. We welcome applicants with strong leadership, operational, compliance, financial oversight, regulatory, or public administration experience from a variety of industries and governmental backgrounds.
