You will also have the opportunity to travel to our corporate office in Richmond, VA, where you’ll connect with fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Employee Benefits team across a wide range of operational activities with professionalism.

  • Learn our agency management system and shadow Account Managers and Analytics Associates.

  • Support the front-line service team by assisting with daily administrative and client-service tasks.

  • Enter and maintain plan information, run benefits-related reports as needed, and process enrollments and terminations with carriers accurately and on time.

  • Respond to client questions, providing clear, helpful information or directing inquiries to the appropriate team member

  • Prepare and organize client deliverables, including PowerPoint decks, meeting notes, and enrollment and renewal documentation.

  • Request, process, and document carrier renewals; follow up on data requests.

  • Organize and maintain SharePoint sites, assist with deliverables, and create dashboards in Excel for databases.

  • Attend client renewal meetings and support preparation of materials.

  • Maintain a consistent, high level of service to internal and external clients.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program

  • Preferred majors include, Risk Management & Insurance, Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professional
