About the role:
This role encompasses the provision of expert and high-quality clinical services to patients designated as under your direct care, to outpatients via both Face to Face and TeleHealth consultation, and to patients you are asked to consult in Lung transplantation and Thoracic Medicine. Other roles include: 
•    Provision of interventional and diagnostic respiratory services, including bronchoscopy and transbronchial lung biopsy.
•    Provide acute and chronic care to Lung transplant and Advanced Lung Disease patients within a multi-disciplinary team environment. 
•    Lead and participate in the development of research and academia in the field of Lung Transplantation and Advanced Lung Diseases.
•    Undertake quality improvement activities within the department
•    Participate in supervision and teaching duties at specialist, registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels.
•    Promotion of excellent patient care and excellent reputation of the department and the hospital.
•    A commitment to participation in a 1 in 7 on-call Lung transplant and Thoracic Medicine roster

Selection Criteria:
•    Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
•    Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
•    Specialist training and expert knowledge at consultant level in Lung Transplantation and Advanced Lung Diseases. Expertise in the management of patients requiring extra-corporeal life support is desirable.
•    Current interventional bronchoscopy skill subset to include fibre-optic bronchoscopy and transbronchial lung biopsy. Additional endobronchial ultrasound expertise is desirable. 
•    Evidence of publication/s in high-impact journal/s in the field of lung transplantation or advanced lung diseases. A higher degree is desirable. 
•    Leadership skills that support improvement of the quality of services, patient care outcomes in a multi-disciplinary team, innovation and learning culture.
