Job Description

General Summary of Position Responsibility:        

This position provides administrative support as it relates to the onboarding, maintaining and exiting of all students in the respective Medical Student program affiliated with the assigned division and ensures compliance with all training requirements. The Medical Education Coordinator works closely with Divisional Leadership to provide comprehensive support to academic trainings that are focused on Pediatrics Residents.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with Division Leadership to coordinate the educational programs within their respective Division.
  • Point of contact for communication of onboarding paperwork for McGaw Medical Center and Lurie Children’s Hospital.
  • Coordinate and schedule all aspects of medical education programs, including lectures, workshops, and seminars, ensuring facilities are booked and prepared for each event.
  • Liaise with faculty, guest speakers, and participants to communicate event details, gather necessary materials, and address any inquiries or concerns
  • Develop curriculum materials and resources for use in medical education programs
  • Communicate with participants and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of educational programs
  • Keep up-to-date with new advancements in medical research and technology to improve the quality of educational programs
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of educational programs to continuously improve student learning outcomes
  • Collaborate with other medical educators, healthcare providers, and industry experts to stay current with changes in the field
  • Primary recipient of requests for external rotations based on partnerships of Division specific activities.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; minimum two years of related administrative experience required. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of either area.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and analytical skills, ability to work with teams, strong written/verbal communication.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good and professional judgment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical education programs, preferred.
  • Experience in an Academic Medical Center, preferred
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with Microsoft applications.
