Hitachi Rail GTS is a global engineering company with over 24,000 employees and expertise in Signaling, Communications & Supervision, Fare Collection, Rolling Stock. 

The Singapore Engineering team has a direct impact on commuter experience with improvements such as lower energy consumption, less service disruptions, and faster travel times thanks to our driverless communication-based train control systems.  In particular, the team is leading the development and use of cloud-based solutions to leverage the abundance of data generated during day-to-day passenger operation for railways in every continent. 

System Design Engineer Intern (URS Analytics Management and Comms) (Ref. No. R1006674)

at our location in Singapore

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive adoption of analytics tools by internal and external customers through user activity monitoring, testimonial gathering, demonstration sessions and regular stakeholder comms

  • Use analytics tools for analysis of CBTC System performance (equipment condition monitoring, energy efficient train operations and fault analysis) on behalf of projects around the globe

  • Create and maintain analytics dashboards and visualizations

  • Support development of new features via testing and gathering of user feedback

  • Review and update system design documents to address user requirements, project configuration management, and training needs

  • Work in our world class CBTC simulation facility to gain hands on experience with actual signalling system hardware and software

Technologies We Use (no experience required):

  • Tools: MS Office, Azure, Docker, Git, ELK, Superset, SQL, Windows, Linux

  • Languages: Python (Pandas, Numpy, etc)

Who You Are:

  • Pursuing a degree in an Engineering field or in Computer Science

  • Curious and willing to learn technical skills fast and on the fly

  • Have strong communication skills to interface with GTS personnel around the globe

  • [Good To Have / Optional] Have had exposure to some of the technologies we use
