The Challenge

We are looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager, with a big passion for regulatory and biscuits. We offer you the opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission to bring ‘Happiness with every bite’.

Location: Vertou - France

The position entails
This is a very exciting opportunity to ensure the legal compliance of all pladis products sold mainly within France and across the region of Europe and Developing Markets (EDM). Your goal will be to provide sound regulatory information and advice to support product launches and re-designs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with local regulations and pladis policies. You will be reporting to the Regional Head of the Regulatory Affairs for the EDM Region within a team of regulatory experts.

Your main responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of pladis brands in accordance with the sale market regarding product formulation, pack copy generation and artwork sign-off, in line with pladis policies.
  • Working closely with R&D, convert recipe details into pack copy information to appropriate legal formats for the intended sale market.
  • Review and sign-off artwork designs against relevant pack copy for legal compliance for market.
  • Understand pladis allergen matrices and apply accordingly to ensure packs are labelled with the accurate allergen warnings.
  • Represent the Regulatory Affairs team where appropriate with project team meetings with a specific remit to advise on compliance implications.
  • Keep abreast of development and trends of the food & health regulations and local and international policies that could impact our business.
  • Experience in the local trade associations, develop common positions and communications which can support the business. (preferred)

What do you bring?

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology , Food Law or other food science-based degree.
  • A knowledge/understanding of EU Food Legislation, guidelines and codes of practice.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to the agreed timelines.
  • Good communication in French and English, influencing skills.
  • Proven project management and implementation skills will be essential, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • High level of digital literacy & proficiency in using web-based specification systems.
  • Strong numeracy skills and proactive working style.
  • Works autonomously, but also a good teammate in collaboration.
  • at least 3-5 years of experience with a good knowledge of ingredients, finished recipes concerning biscuits and confectionery products.

  • Working time : our cadres (employees under an annual working time package) are on a 207 days forfait jours. This correspond to 19 RTT days for the current year

  • Health insurance : the company covers 100% of the cost of the basic health insurance plan for the employee alone (family coverage is not included)
  • Retirement & provident schemes: employees are covered under the standard mandatory French retirement and disability/death insurance schemes
