Aptive Pest Control l is seeking a self-driven, detail-oriented team player to join our growing organization as VP of Accounting. This leadership role oversees all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards. This includes full ownership of the financial statements, cash and treasury, tax and audit processes, technical accounting, and internal controls.

You’ll lead a high-performing team and be responsible for core accounting functions such as general ledger management, financial systems oversight, and the monthly close process, while also contributing to strategic initiatives across the company.

Responsibilities include:

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, treasury, and reporting functions.

• Oversee and mentor a team of 7–8 accounting professionals, focusing on skills development, technical growth, and leadership coaching.

• Own the company’s financial statements and ensure all transactions are in line with GAAP standards.

• Direct the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax and property tax obligations.

• Lead implementation and maintenance of accounting systems (Workday, FloQast, Navan, Visual Lease, Adaptive Insights).

• Oversee technical accounting standards, including ASC 606, 842, 340, 805, 326, and others relevant under US GAAP.

• Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, in alignment with SOX best practices.

• Manage special projects and cross-functional initiatives in partnership with leaders across the organization.

• Support ad-hoc accounting issues, including system configuration, acquisitions, integrations, and more.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including 4+ years in audit (strongly preferred).

• Experience with Workday and other enterprise accounting systems is required.

• Proven leadership and team development experience.

• Strong technical accounting expertise; experience with public company or SOX environments is a plus.

• CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.

• Project management experience is a plus.
