This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth’s orbit and beyond. Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space. We are pioneering new frontiers, committed to the belief that lowering the cost to space can redefine our future for the better. As a Senior Software Development Engineer for our New Glenn Engineering Data Systems and Architecture (EDSA) team, you will play a pivotal role in making this vision a reality.

As a Front-End Developer in the New Glenn EDSA team, you will develop the tools to manage foundational Engineering data for various spaceflight systems. We are collaborative-driven specialists building tools for the people designing, operating, and maintaining our New Glenn vehicle(s). We bring complex data together and make it meaningful information for decisions. You will make contributions to all aspects of this platform and need to be proficient with use of modern Data, Cloud, and Web technologies.

Success in this role requires that you work autonomously while staying tightly aligned with the team's goals. This includes proactive communication and a willingness to share your input and viewpoints regularly. We expect modern collaborative software development (clean code, documentation, git, etc.). We need you to take ownership for refining the requirements you are given and delivering the impactful results and solutions needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work directly with TPMs and customers to develop requirements front end User Interface as well as provide input to Backend Database design
  • Incrementally deliver functional UIs coordinated with team priorities
  • Contribute to overall UI strategy for suite of ROVER tools
  • Develop in an agile team including building consensus on designs and participating in code reviews
  • Integrate with in house and off-the-shelf systems using APIs, custom service layers, work queues, and monitoring solutions
  • Think outside the box. Challenge why things are done a certain way and figure out ways to build solutions better

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or related.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of enterprise level development experience
  • Experience with Material UI
  • Experience with React and ES6
  • Experience with unit testing
  • Experience with git
  • The ability to quickly absorb information in an unfamiliar domain and translate it into software
  • A self-driven nature with the ability to seek out requirements and propose solutions with minimal direction
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to configuration management systems, specifically Windchill
  • Experience with React Testing Library
  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, Rancher
  • Experienced with PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience with micro services
  • Experience with aerospace systems
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with C# or Python


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $170,805.00-$239,127.00

Other site ranges may differ
