ABOUT THIS POSITION

Cloud Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure to support various applications and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, and a keen understanding of cloud security practices. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 

  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. 

  • Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor cloud resources, analyze performance metrics, and optimize costs and performance for cloud environments. 

  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry regulations. 

  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide troubleshooting support for cloud-related issues and work to resolve them promptly. Collaborate with development teams to diagnose and resolve application-related issues. 

  • Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures. Provide regular reports on cloud performance, usage, and costs. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Application Development, and Technology Operations, to ensure smooth integration and deployment of cloud solutions. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends. Evaluate and recommend new tools and services to enhance cloud operations. 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in cloud engineering or a related role, with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud environments. 
     

    Technical Skills: 
     

    • Cloud Platforms: Proficient with one or more major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience with core services such as computing, storage, and networking. 

    • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. 

    • Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks. 

    • Monitoring & Optimization: Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques. 

    • Cloud Security: Understanding of basic cloud security practices and principles, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and network security. 

    • Certifications: Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer) are desirable.
