The main purpose of this role is to drive profitable growth of Thomson Reuters K.K. legal products in Japan, developing and maintain a compelling and dynamic business segment value proposition, drive the implementation of segment proposition initiatives.

In this role, you will bring full value of legal product propositions to our customers, mobilize GTM to execute around growth priorities, represent voice of customer to inform strategic planning and investment choices.

You will also provide proposition leadership in support of the delivery of relevant sales target.

Please note that job title shall commensurate with experience.

About the Role

As a Proposition Manager/Director – Legal, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop commercial plan to achieve gross and net sales, revenue and EBITDA targets for Thomson Reuters K.K. legal product.
  • Undertake market opportunity analysis; work with sales and marketing to translate insight into GTM priorities and execution plans.
  • Build multi-year growth strategy, defining key priorities and focus areas for organic development, acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships and cross-border leverage.
  • Create compelling customer proposition through building up insights to achieve growth ambitions
  • Update, refresh and continuously improve the customer proposition
  • Conduct market and customer research to understand and anticipate customer needs and behavior
  • Work closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Strategy to develop and maintain long-term and short-term commercial strategy.
  • Collaborating with other proposition leads, own strategic marketing and thought leadership for legal products, work closely with marketing teams to execute. 
  • Own legal products pricing strategy, GTM strategy.
  • Regular engagement with key customers.
  • Identification of key partners in Japan for services, technology and reseller partnerships.

About You

As a Proposition Manager/Director – Legal, you should possess the following:

  • Skilled at building close relationships with sales, product and marketing leads as well as stakeholder management and persuasion – able to tailor strategies to a wide range of audiences.
  • An outside-in focus: outstanding end-customer relationship skills.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Preferred experience in content service domain and understanding of commercial strategy processes.
  • Highly skilled at relentlessly prioritizing to drive customer market value while balancing all stakeholder input
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • Experience in Legal preferred
