Planning Program Manager

Description -

This role is responsible for leading multiple program teams to drive planning activities of new HP’s Hybrid System solutions and products. Overseeing activities of program teams and internal/external development partners, developing schedule, budget and resource plans and tracking progress against the established plans. The role applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and leverages it to drive innovation and technology integration.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive PLC process for portfolio program specifically focusing on concept planning phase.

  • Manage program schedule planning, drive cost activities to meet cost target during RFI/RFQ, facilitate cost/feature trade-off discussion to ensure on-time checkpoint delivery.

  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to L3, direct managers, directors/senior managers in PM, R&D, and Supply Chain and internal and external development partners.

  • Manage portfolio program prioritization with consideration of business requirement, available budget, and resource.

  • Review product complexity and identify opportunities for reduction.

  • Lead strategic cross-functional initiatives, programs/projects with global teams.

  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field.

The base pay range for this role is $115,850 to $178,400 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
