Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Coordinator TFR (Taco Fall River) is responsible for ensuring raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory accuracy and integrity for the TFR warehouse. They are also responsible for administering TFR cycle count programs.
Measures of success:
- Improve cycle count accuracy dollars and quantity as a % of value and quantity adjustments
- Increase adherence to inventory control policies and procedures
- Increase root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and corrective action implementation as a % of adjustment-quantity year over year
- Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) queue managed and up to date monthly
- Monthly cycle counts completed in less than 10 days
- Successful yearly warehouse mini-audits
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identifies inventory issues and performs root cause analysis. Recommends solutions to management and helps to implement corrective actions.
- Monitors and trains employees on proper use of kanban transactions.
- Serves as the primary researcher and problem solver for material count discrepancies on a regular basis. Investigates discrepancies found during cycle count, performs adjustments to correct inventory in the TFR warehouse and collaborates with the buyer/planning team for the production floor inventory.
- Analyzes cycle count results on a daily and weekly basis.
- Maintains and communicates daily and weekly cycle count results to managers, supervisors, and buyer planners. Works collaboratively with them to identify and report out on procedural changes required to eliminate the reoccurrence of transactions/actions which create inaccurate inventory records.
- Creates an excel spreadsheet of location, part number, on hand quantity, actual on hand quantity, variance, and reports on root cause / reason for discrepancies in the TFR warehouse.
- Advises buyer planners of material substitution requirements from production floor when dictated by inventory levels.
- Operates fork trucks to perform inventory checks and verifies counts as required.
- Emails the supervisors of the schedule cycle count for the month so they can plan accordingly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to achieve forklift certification
- 5+ years of warehouse experience
- 2+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- General knowledge of inventory cost systems
- Ability to operate conventional fork trucks and reach trucks
- Must have the ability to solve inventory issues independently
- General understanding of all warehouse work areas and job functions (e.g., receiving, shipping, put away, and picker)
- General understanding of inventory transactions in a manufacturing environment and the effects of how those transactions impact the company on a financial basis
- Analytical ability to investigate how inventory transactions are processed and determine whether the transactions were processed in the proper manner
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Travel: locally between different company sites as needed
Preferred:
- Associates degree in data analytics or related field
Work Environment
This position works primarily on a production floor where large equipment and noise are prevalent as well as in an office environment using computers and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required, and safety gear is required in production areas.
This is an onsite position that reports to office/facility 5-6 days per week based on business need.
This position reports on-site for all scheduled shifts.
