Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a level 2 or level 3 Operations & Training Engineer to support a program in Fairfax, VA.
***Please note that the location of this position is expected to change to McLean, VA in 2027***
The selected candidate will perform the following activities:
Platform/Ground system monitoring
Platform/Ground system planning & scheduling
Develop operations procedures as required
Modify/update existing operations procedures as necessary
Develop training curriculum and orientation materials to be employed during procedures-based maintenance training
Support activities such as system problem/anomaly resolution support, data trending, operational product updates, and performance analysis
Support operations readiness activities
Support system test activities
Identify areas of deficiency within the program as it relates to operations and tasking
Work with customer and mission partners to ensure collection needs are met and executed
Basic Qualifications:
Systems Engineer: 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in STEM; 0 years of relevant experience with a Master's in STEM
Principal Systems Engineer: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in STEM; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's' in STEM; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD
TS/SCI clearance required at the time of application.
Candidate must be willing to take a Full Scope Polygraph (polygraph may or may not be required depending on circumstances, but candidate must be willing to take it if needed)
Candidate must be willing to travel up to 10%
Willingness to work off-shift hours if needed, to include stints of 24/7 shifts in support of mission needs
Demonstrated experience in training content development, curation, and deployment
Prior experience executing mission operations, performing basic system engineering tasks and/or resolving platform/ground system anomalies
Knowledge and experience in operations engineering disciplines to include platform and ground software, and anomaly determination and resolution
Preferred Qualifications:
Prefer candidate to have current Counterintelligence or Full Scope Polygraph
Experience with Windows, LINUX, Perl, Python, AGILE SW development tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, bitbucket etc.)
Experience writing test plans and procedures
Experience with Mission Planning
Experience writing technical documents
