Organization's Summary Statement: This position serves as the technical lead for operations, maintenance, and administration of the center’s computing, networking, and telecommunications infrastructure; unclassified and classified. Works closely with the Enterprise Engineering team to ensure the appropriate life-cycle support of systems, from design to end-of-life, is maintained. This position also requires mentoring junior network engineers, running projects consistent with PMI PM standards and being able to write proposals and designs with diagrams. Functions as the subject matter expert for telecommunications and networking.
Provides direct support to research projects with infrastructure requirements and to other mission essential center functions as appropriate.
Ensures the reliability, integrity, and availability of systems and services.
Oversees and maintains fundamental infrastructure for services such as cabling, UPS, racks, etc.
Works with Facilities to ensure adequate power, cooling, and space availability for technical infrastructure.
Provides security support, administration, and monitoring for a broad range of infrastructure to meet security compliance requirements.
