The Software Product Manager is responsible for defining and executing product strategy, managing the Software product lifecycle, and ensuring successful delivery of software solutions that meet customer and business needs. Additionally, the role consults internal ABB customers on software-implementation-related services, provides quotations and manages orders. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries local division in Canada and serves internal ABB customers globally. This role works closely with local SW engineering, global R&D team, platform product marketing, global SW factories, and other stakeholders to translate market opportunities into actionable product plans and high‑quality product releases.
You will be mainly accountable for the following:
Proactively engage with internal customers and ABB software factories on product implementation support, lifecycle inquiries, quotations and orders.
Key Software products include: General Purpose Interface (GPI) for Symphony Plus Engineering, S+ Gateway Software (SGS), Harmony OPC Server (HOPC), OPC HDA Data Migration Tool.
Understand software Installed Base market globally and collaborate with ABB service groups globally to promote lifecycle and implementation services.
Own the product roadmap and prioritize features based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
Collaborate with local engineering leads to estimate effort and refine scope and support planning.
Lead the end to end product lifecycle: requirements, development, license delivery, product release launch, and all iterations of SW products.
Triage and address Software product related questions and issues.
Work directly with cross-platform/product technical teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
Create compelling value proposition, messaging frameworks, and sales enablement content, including sales product training.
Support and lead pricing, packaging initiatives in collaboration with global product management. Create and maintain price catalogs.
Assist the Sales organization and customers in determining technically appropriate and cost-effective evolution technology solutions and preparing quotations.

Qualifications for the role
University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Software Technology
Minimum 3 years of software development experience
Able to multi-task and work on multiple activities (turn over orders quickly, work on quotes, manage licensing, while leading product lifecycle activities)
Communications: English proficiency verbal and in writing
Pro-active in engaging with others including ABB internal customers
Ability to read, write and analyze technical documentation, such as SW product requirements and product manuals
Quick self-learner who enjoys Software
Strong analytical skills
Ability to interact with engineers and SW developers on regular basis
Interest in growing knowledge in pricing strategies and value-based selling

This position is a replacement of a current role. While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,625 and $135,850 annually.
