The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including United States Space Force, United States Space Command, Air Force Material Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation.

This position is for a thought leader who will support planning and execution of Integrated Test and Performance Assessment for space systems.  The role involves working closely with the Space Training and Readiness Command to provide technical analysis and test planning and execution support to integrated test teams focused on fielding capabilities.  The role includes being a member of an integrated test team, providing requirements analysis and evaluation criteria for space combat systems including Command and Control, Electronic Warfare, Missile Warning, and Orbital Warfare systems. The role will provide insights related to opportunities to integrate contractor test plans, development test plans and operational test plans.

This is an 100% onsite position based in Colorado, Springs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide direct engineering expertise to STARCOM test squadrons in developing test designs and test plans, with follow on support to executing the plans and supporting post test analysis
  • Providing direct support to test squadron(s) and developing guidance for a team of functional SMEs that will conduct sensitivity analysis to support test design. 
  • Providing experience-based support to developing, implementing and analyzing results from rigorous integrated development test and operational test
  • Performing operational analysis of requirements and Concept of Operations to build Measures of Effectiveness, Suitability, Survivability, and Lethality Guiding a team of SMEs providing analytic support to defining critical test conditions based on analysis needs and M&S VV&A requirements. 

What You Need to be Successful – Senior Project Engineering, Systems Test Engineering

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, or engineering discipline
  • Ten or more years of progressively responsible professional experience with live, virtual or constructive test
  • Experience with acquisition of USAF or USSF RF Systems
  • Experience with space operations or related military discipline
  • Experience with DoD, USAF, and/or USSF Test and Evaluation policy, guidance, and best practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This position requires a current SSBI and possess (or be immediately eligible for) a
    Top Secret SCI clearance and a SAP/SAR clearance, which is issued by the US government. US citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to work in the office, this position is not compatible with telecommuting
  • Ability to travel domestically

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of the following

  • Experience with Operations Research Analysis
  • Experience with specific phases of system assessments to include: system requirements breakdown, test design/design of experiments, test planning, test execution, data collecting, data analysis, and test reporting.
  • Knowledge of Missile Warning/Missile Defense architecture and performance
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare related technology, development and/or operations
  • Knowledge of Orbital Warfare Concepts of Operations
  • Experience working large, complex issues and the ability to break down problems into meaningful steps to accomplish with a team
  • Advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, science, computer science, or other technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with Air Force/National Security Space enterprise architecture 
  • Current applicable SAP/SAR accesses

We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business.  The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.  Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
