AIX System Administrator

Important Information 

Location: Singapore

Job mode: Contract

 

Job Summary:

We're looking for an experienced AIX Administrator to collaborate with application teams, drive system upgrades, and ensure high availability of our UNIX infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with application teams for EOS upgrade planning

- Define configuration standards for UNIX and system software

- Provide technical assistance to dev/ops teams

- Script automation using Perl, KSH, Python

- Work with GIT/GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Nagios

- Troubleshoot and drive system recovery with urgency

- Lead AIX OS upgrades and ensure supportability

- Review and supervise major change requests

- Conduct performance tuning and analysis

- Automate operations for efficiency

- Drive OS/software upgrade cycles

- Manage backup and recovery

 

Functional & Technical Competencies:

- AIX OS and system services (Volume Manager, NTP, DNS, Clustering, SSH, TSM, ITM)

- UNIX troubleshooting and tuning

- UNIX server clustering

- Information security fundamentals

- Data communication and networking

- Middleware/app execution in UNIX (an advantage)

 

Requirements:

- Strong AIX administration experience

- Experience with scripting (Perl, KSH, Python)

- Knowledge of DevOps tools (GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

- Experience with clustering and performance tuning
