Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Data Warehouse and Analytics team. The role focuses on the development, administration and continuous improvement of modern data warehouse solutions. The successful candidate will work with cloud‑based data platforms and contribute to designing, building and operating scalable, high‑quality and cost‑efficient data solutions.
This position is well suited for an engineer with strong foundations in software development and data engineering, combined with an interest in cloud platforms, analytics and AI/ML solutions.

This role is contributing to the ABB Automation D&A Globally. Main stakeholders are ABB Automation IS Managers, Data Managers, Data Product Owners.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Design, develop, maintain and administer data warehouse and analytics solutions using Python, SQL and JSON
Design and implement connectors, data flows and integrations using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake
Review functional and technical use‑case specifications and translate them into effective technical solutions
Design and maintain data models and analytical structures in Snowflake
Analyze, review and optimize SQL queries and Python code to ensure performance, scalability and cost efficiency
Participate in defining and implementing AI/ML‑related technical solutions in cooperation with architects and stakeholders
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and user manuals, describing operating
procedures and supported solutions
Provide 3rd and 4th level support as an extension of incident management when Service Desk capabilities are insufficient
Resolve user questions and issues related to data warehouse and analytics solutions
Collaborate with users and project teams in projects, problem management and solution
deployment
Present developed solutions clearly and effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences
Qualifications for the role:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or a related field
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Python
Experience working with JSON and structured or semi‑structured data
Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and data modeling
Experience or working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, especially Azure Data Factory
Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms
Ability to design technical solutions based on functional and technical requirements
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Good communication and presentation skills
Nice to have:
Experience with AI/ML concepts and technology or analytics‑driven solutions
Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and performance tuning
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g. Git), or DevOps practices
Prior experience in enterprise data platforms or analytics projects
