Position Summary...

About Team: 

This role is part of the Walmart Global Tech Product team with a specific focus on building products in the Facilities Management domain (One Reality) for Walmart Digital Facilities organization. Core Service – Retail Tech team is responsible for building and enhancing the next generation global Digital Facilities to further enhance our customer experience while reducing cost of maintenance. Walmart has significant opportunity to optimize our operations cost using advanced technology while enabling a rich customer experience and win with Walmart’s everyday low-cost philosophy. This role will help in accelerating our technician platform roadmap and working with the FM business team to drive and measure the impact of our platform related initiatives. 

What you'll do: 

  • Drive design, development, implementation and documentation.  

  • Drive development and designs/solutions involving the integration of varied technologies and products to meet business objectives. 

  • Able to quickly understand existing application code and able to discover how to scale and optimize software performance. And able to translate discoveries into actions to improve and achieve better Scalability, Availability, Reliability, Performance, and Resilience of the system.

  • Leads and participates in translating requirements into technical solutions, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; enhancing design to prevent re-occurrences of defects and communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.

  • Lead complex technical and strategic discussions that involve multiple personas including engineering, architect, product, customer, and other stakeholders. 

  • You will work with engineering teams to create high level and low level designs, drive design discussion and technical decisions.

  • Must be able to roll up sleeves and get hands dirty during Production issues or issues/blockers with builds, code enhancements and testing. Consistent eagerness to permanently address Production issues  to eliminate recurring issues in the system.

  • Drive the success of the implementation by applying technical skills, to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives. 

  • Work closely with the Architects and cross functional teams and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery). Within the established architectural guidelines. Interact with Walmart engineering teams, Product Management and Business across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community. 

What you'll bring: 

  • 12+ years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications, complex platform development, distributed & microservices delivery environment

  • Strong hands on development skills to prototype technical solutions. Strong technical background with the capability of being hands-on as required. Should have built a complex distributed system / microservices based platform or product. 

  • Have good experience in performance instrumentation, tuning, and optimization of large-scale (legacy/existing) products. 

  • Have good knowledge in design patterns while building cloud-native products. Well versed in concepts like OAuth Authentication and security protocols, multi-threading.

  • Ability to set and drive technical vision and provide technical mentorship to all levels of engineering talent. Should have established credibility as a central resource, utilized by teams to seek advisory on complex technical issues and projects. 

  • In-depth focus and an attitude to understand and resolve complex technical issues. Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns. 

  • Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development. Must have excellent knowledge of core JAVA (17) with hands on development experience in frameworks like Spring, Spring Security, Spring Reactive, Spring Boot.

  • Working experience and knowledge on frontend technologies like ReactJS, NodeJS

  • Working experience and in depth knowledge with complex SQL and Stored procedure. Should be able to debug, tune and optimise existing complex/advanced SQL queries.

  • Working experience and in depth knowledge with Kafka Messaging systems and knowledge on Azure Service Bus.

  • In depth knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Microservice Architecture and related stacks (Service Registry, ELK / Splunk, Microservices, VMs, etc.) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

  • Work exposure on agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins

  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project. 

  • High sense of urgency to solve problems and in executing them with extreme ownership. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills
