JOB OVERVIEW:

Under supervision of the mill supervisor perform duties to produce high-quality air-dried herbs following established safety, quality, and production standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in transporting food products from holding or storage area to designated processing are.
  •  Moves production supplies and equipment after production runs and prepares it for cleaning.
  • Watch product flow into containers, move containers when full and replace with an empty containers.
  • Look for foreign material in product.
  • Assemble boxes or other packaging material to be filled with.
  • Change screens in machinery when needed.
  • Sweep the floors as needed.
  • Report any unusal noise from equipment to supervisor.
  • Identifies and reports all injuries and incidents immediately, corrects unsafe work conditions where possible.
  • Understanding and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Ensure all HACCP, GMP, and BRC requirements are met. Report any quality issues the Quality personnel or Manager/Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2+ years of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Developed listening, verbal, communication skills.
  • Organizational and detail skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Must be a problem-solver who uses good judgment.
  • Interpret and follow simple verbal and written instructions
  • Able to follow directions, work well independently or as part of the team
  • Basic mechanical and technical understanding of, or able to quickly learn, production equipment
  • Must demonstrate great attitude and the willingness to help others
  • Demonstrate the following competencies: integrity, reliability, cooperation, accountability, and initiative.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent transport, move, position, place, and handle product, equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Constantly move or remain stationary to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place detect or position product equipment and tools
  • Occasionally position self, balance, ascend/descend to preform essential functions including under and over production equipment
  • Must be able to detect, perceive and observe while preforming jobs
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Constantly exposed to moderate noise
  • Constantly wear standard food manufacturing Personal Protective Equipment
  • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
