Job Summary:  The ESG and Technical Accounting Manager supports executive management and is responsible for a variety of accounting and reporting responsibilities.  The ESG and Technical Accounting Manager’s responsibilities include performing in-depth analysis of moderate to complex financial information and overseeing the preparation and review of the annual Corporate Responsibility Report.  The ESG and Technical Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our voluntary and mandatory ESG disclosures.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversees preparation and review of the Company’s annual Corporate Responsibility Report.

  • Manages SEC, state-level and other climate reporting.

  • Supports and coordinates with teams managing voluntary ESG reporting and disclosures to ensure information is consistent and synergistic.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, Marketing, Audit, etc.) to ensure consistent ESG reporting.

  • Monitors the evolving global regulatory ESG reporting landscape and evaluate the applicability of new regulations to POOL.

  • Manages technical accounting research efforts.

  • Researches SEC and GAAP guidance, including performing peer research for various disclosures as necessary.

  • Assists with preparation of information for board meetings and quarterly earnings calls as assigned.

  • Oversees technical accounting functions as assigned.

  • Supports compliance with management’s controls over financial reporting.

  • Identifies specific projects and system enhancements designed to improve processing efficiency of corporate accounting and subsidiary reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

  • CPA Certification.

  • A minimum of five years public accounting experience or industry experience with a publicly traded company (Big four or large regional firm with publicly traded clients).

  • Proven leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other basic software products.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and research skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects.

  • Strong partnering and communication skills.

  • Desire to drive efficiencies and improve processes.
