We're looking for a Marketing Data Enablement to join our team in London as part of our Marketing function.

Your Role: Your mission is to ensure the availability, integrity, and accessibility of high-quality marketing data across Ascential’s ecosystem. In this strategic role, you will work across platforms, including Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics (GA4), Salesforce, Marketo, BigQuery, and Funnel.io, to create integrated data flows that empower decision-making and uncover actionable insights. By implementing structured processes and breaking down data silos, you’ll unify data from these diverse sources to support a comprehensive view of marketing performance and business impact.

You will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and analytics teams to design and govern data solutions that adapt to evolving business needs while maintaining compliance with data privacy standards. As the business’s technical lead in marketing data enablement, you will play a pivotal role in advancing scalable, compliant solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across Ascential’s marketing efforts

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the SME for GTM across the entire business, providing expert guidance on best practices and ensuring consistency in GTM usage and governance.
  • Lead the design and implementation of tracking solutions using GTM and GA4, focusing on structured, reliable setups for enhanced data accuracy.
  • Develop and oversee structured data layer implementations to ensure accurate, scalable tracking solutions across digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing and product teams to document and implement measurement frameworks that meet strategic data needs.
  • Manage cookie governance solutions (CMP) to maintain full data privacy compliance.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous QA and testing protocols, working with developers to ensure data integrity throughout tracking implementation, pre- and post-release.
  • Develop and manage a tracking roadmap that aligns with both short-term marketing analytics objectives and long-term data enablement strategies.
  • Conduct regular audits of analytics setups to ensure ongoing compliance with data standards, data privacy, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with third-party partners to ensure tracking solutions support accurate cross-platform reporting and data consistency.

Your Experience

  • Some experience in digital analytics implementation, with deep expertise in Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA/GA4).
  • Proven experience in a role where you acted as the technical lead or SME for tracking, responsible for defining and implementing business-wide tracking strategies.
  • Familiarity with cookie governance solutions (CMP) and data privacy standards, ensuring compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and similar regulations.
  • Capable of serving as the go-to expert for all tracking-related questions and needs across the business, with a focus on structured, scalable solutions.
  •  Advanced knowledge in Google Tag Manager and GA4, including hands-on experience with tracking setups, data accuracy, and governance best practices.
  • Skilled in defining, managing, and optimising data layer requirements that support accurate and reliable data capture across digital platforms.
  • Ability to design and deploy rigorous QA and testing protocols, proactively working with developers to ensure data integrity throughout implementation.
  • Proficient in establishing and maintaining structured processes for tracking, QA, and documentation, supporting business-wide consistency.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot tracking issues and perform regular audits, maintaining high data quality standards.
  • Effective communicator who can articulate tracking requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Solid understanding of cookie consent management and data privacy standards to ensure all tracking solutions are compliant.
  • Able to work effectively with marketing, product, and analytics teams to support multichannel data collection and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing Analytics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience is desired but not required.

If you don't meet every single requirement, we'd still encourage you to apply. At Ascential, we are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you are excited about this role we would still like you to apply.
