Job Summary

A Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for determining current staffing needs, developing talent acquisition strategies, leading employment branding initiatives, demonstrating strong candidates sourcing capabilities for open positions, conducting recruitment processes in a timely manner, ensuring positive candidate experiences, and assisting in employee retention and development. The scope of responsibilities includes hiring of both office-based employees and store-based employees and new graduates.  For the stores, TA manager provides strategic support such as conducting workshop for hiring managers and providing necessary resources and tools to retail management team and frontline employees (i.e. area managers and store managers) for them to become effective to respond to their hiring needs.

TA manager must demonstrate a combination of good level of overall functional HR knowledge and employment regulations, deep TA knowledge for the market (industry landscape, talent insights, market trending, best practice etc.), and skilled and personalized stakeholder management to develop TA strategies that will attract the breadth of talent, internally and externally.  TA manager also works closely with TA team in the US to learn best practices and tools and share Japan experiences and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to source, attract, recruit, and select high-quality candidates against defined criteria. Be credible partners, deliver quality results, and ensure excellence in execution.
  • Be a Talent Advisor, collaborate with GM, Hiring Managers and HR team to develop a strong aligned understanding of the talent landscape in the market, internal Columbia business strategy, department culture, DE&I opportunities, and talent profiles to support and deliver on the talent needs of the business.
  • Lead end to end recruitment process effectively and in a timely manner in partnership with HR functional staff such as C&B, payroll and L&D as well as business leaders.
  • Lead all phases of new college recruitment activities in partner with Retail team, especially Shop Staff Development team (SSD.)
  • Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes (interviews, screening calls etc.) efficiently. 
  • Engage and advocate for diverse talent, establishing new and long-term relationships, including reinforce, expand, and extend Columbia brand in diverse talent markets as needed.
  • Use innovative sourcing channels, as much as possible, to convert hard to find passive talent including social media, resume mining, diversity resources and networking.
  • Conduct Hiring manager training to ensure we deliver on the trust, quality and promise of the Columbia brand to enhance the candidate experience that is unique Columbia.
  • Assist in employee retention and development.
  • Use metrics to create reports and identify areas of improvement.
  • Partner with TA team in the US and HR team in other regions to learn best practices and tools and also share knowledge, HR trends, and experiences in Japan to execute best practices enterprise-wide.
  • Develop various reports such as HC, recruiting updates, and org. charts updates.
  • Responsible for administration of recruiting process in Workday.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
