1Performs sidewalk inspections of all Town sidewalks in compliance with the minimum maintenance standards and other various Town assets.
Document findings and the appropriate action required
Mark deficiencies to notify the public of a hazard
Perform administrative duties: Document findings and prepare spreadsheets based on budget requirements and minimum maintenance standards
Maintain records and prepare reports as required
Responds to customer inquiries according to established procedures and approved decision-making framework
Maintains ongoing communication with internal staff and contractors to maintain a high level of efficiency and service
Comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Perform all other duties as assigned in accordance with Department objectives
Secondary School diploma required or equivalent
Minimum one (1) year experience in municipal public works or parks and/or other relevant and/or equivalent experience
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in municipal road, park or forestry and horticulture operations considered an asset
Certifications or Designations
Class G License in good standing
DZ License with a satisfactory driving record is required for staff working with roads operations in the winter
A valid Standard First Aid / CPR-C and AED certification would be considered an asset
Additional Job Skills
Working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, i.e. Ontario Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Mechanical aptitude to operate relevant equipment
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Hourly Rate: $26.40 - $28.51
