As a Specialist in Program Planning and Controls and a part of the MK1 Program Operations team, you will help enable Blue Origin’s first landing on the moon. You will be partnered with one or more of our Integrated Product Teams in the cost and schedule management of their scope, integrating their cost and schedule plans into the larger program management effort, and will be empowered to ensure your teams’ are managing to cost and schedule success. A love for well-organized work, an affinity for detailed and diligent management, and an enjoyment of working with great people to quickly accomplish historic goals will be essential.

Establishing this cost and schedule management will involve soliciting inputs on requirements and dependencies supporting the development of Work Breakdown Structures, Integrated Master Schedules, and the formation of detailed IPT-level schedules. This position will drive execution to these plans by coordinating status updates, collecting and inputting schedule performance, performing regular schedule forecast updates, and providing actionable schedule reporting. You will use schedule performance data to generate actionable metrics, key performance indicators, and schedule reporting artifacts to inform IPT leaders and influence future schedule updates. A strong attention to detail and proactive analysis of schedule status and variances is needed to help advise future performance on our projects. This position will also require you to manage updates that support program Estimate to Completes (ETC) and Estimate at Complete (EACs) exercises. As part of the PP&C functional team, you will also support (or lead!) company-level initiatives aimed at driving consistency in schedule and cost processes, tools, and reporting across business units to drive operational maturity. Reporting to MK1’s Director of Program Operations and utilizing your experience in analysis, exemplary communication, and high attention to detail and accuracy, you will work to increase the speed and efficiency of our programs by supporting the timely delivery, quality, and transparency of schedule data to support program stakeholders including IPT leaders and Program Managers.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, engineering, project management or other highly analytical field

  • 5+ years of experience in program scheduling in aerospace industry or R&D programs

  • Broad/deep scheduling and planning skillset - proficiency with resource-loaded schedules using Primavera (P6), Open Plan, MS Project, or other software

  • Control account management including schedule baselining, reforecasting, variance analysis, and schedule-change management

  • Proven ability to build, develop, and maintain a fully networked and resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedule from scratch

  • Skilled in developing and using cost and schedule reports

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Experience and comfort with working in ambiguous environments and situations

  • P6, Deltek, COBRA, Empower, or similar cost/schedule integration and analysis tool experience

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.  

Desired:

  • Experience in project analysis and/or project management

  • Experience establishing new research and development programs

  • Proven record of hands-on development and implementation of company-wide process improvements

  • IPMR customer deliverables on EVM-required contracts

  • Experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial program reporting

  • Successful support of programs through DCMA/DCAA, joint site surveillance, or other government audits

  • Proposal support including pricing for bids requiring certified pricing

  • MBA, or Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager), or related master's degree


 

Compensation Range for:

CA applicants is $108,360.00-$151,704.00;CO applicants is $99,330.00-$139,062.00;WA applicants is $108,360.00-$151,704.00

Other site ranges may differ
