The Risk Management Specialist supports the review and administration of insurance provisions within client and vendor contracts, ensuring alignment with AMN’s insurance programs and risk tolerance. This role evaluates contractual risk transfer requirements, recommends edits aligned with company standards, and partners with Legal and business stakeholders to address insurance-related contractual requirements. The position also supports contract administration activities, issuance of AMN certificates of insurance, and provides day-to-day operational support to the Risk Management team.
Job Responsibilities
Contract Review & Insurance Support
- Review client contracts, master service agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), and related documents to identify insurance provisions
- Evaluate contractual risk transfer requirements and ensure alignment with company risk management policies, insurance programs, and operational capabilities.
- Identify non-standard or high-risk requirements and recommend practical edits aligned with company standards
- Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance requirements, including general liability, professional liability, cyber liability, workers’ compensation, auto liability, and umbrella/excess coverage.
- Draft, revise, and maintain standard insurance and risk management contract language, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines.
- Partner with Legal, Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to facilitate timely insurance and risk-related contract terms as needed.
- Support contract administration activities, including tracking review status, organizing documentation, and managing intake through shared workflows or systems
- Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders regarding contractual risk transfer and insurance requirements.
Certificate of Insurance (COI) Support
- Support issuance of AMN Certificates of Insurance (COIs) to clients
- Assist with gathering insurance documentation and renewal data as needed
- Maintain organized records of COI requests and supporting documentation
Operational & Team Support
- Triage shared inbox requests and respond to internal and external inquiries related to insurance documentation
- Provide administrative and operational support across risk management programs
- Assist with maintaining accurate records across systems and trackers
Process & Risk Support
- Identify patterns or trends in contract requirements and escalate insights to leadership
- Support process improvements across contract review and COI workflows
- Partner with cross-functional teams to maintain consistency in risk and insurance practices
Key Qualifications
Experience
Bachelor’s Degree plus 3–6 years of relevant experience in risk management, insurance, or contract review
OR High School Diploma/GED plus 7-9 years of relevant experience in risk management, insurance, or contract review
- Direct experience reviewing insurance provisions in client or vendor contracts
Insurance Knowledge
- Background in commercial lines insurance
Skills
- Ability to interpret insurance policies and apply coverage concepts to contractual obligations
- Ability to identify non-standard requirements and recommend clear, practical edits
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain insurance concepts to non-insurance audiences
- Organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, staffing, or professional services environments
- Ability to identify trends across contracts and flag emerging risks
- Experience working with insurance brokers (e.g., quotes, endorsements, coverage feasibility)
Pay Rate
$73,000 - $86,500 Salary
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
