Job Summary

Responsible for participating as an individual contributor in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Interfaces with vendors, engineering and peer operations organizations. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

The Data Support Operator will work within a geographically disperse operations team that seeks continuous improvement for NBCUniversal analytics and business intelligence technologies.  As the flood of digital information increases, the Data Support Operator in this role will be responsible for connecting multiple open and closed sourced systems and transitioning raw data to predictive information for partners across broadcast (cable, news, and sports networks), film studios, and world-renowned theme parks.  In the Data Support Operator role, you will be working with internal stakeholders, data engineers, visualization experts, data scientists, and other technologists across the business.   • Maintain a 24/7 operational resiliency across data pipelines.
  • Available on short notice and flexible to scheduling which supports a 24/7/365 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Deliver Technical experience with AWS MWAA, troubleshooting and test techniques
  • Supports data pipelines, ensuring that issues are identified and resolved per standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate issues that occur within the data pipelines.
  • Perform root cause analysis on open incidents.
  • Ensure operational policies and standards are followed and documented across the organization
  • Uses daily metrics report to react to and improve upon data delivery issues.
  • Builds and maintains engineering relationships with their peers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a data engineering role
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and Bash Scripting
  • Experience with AWS, Airflow, and Snowflake
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Jira
  • Knowledge of data pipeline fundamentals
  • General understanding of cloud data engineering design patterns and use cases
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or related field.
