What’s the role?

We are looking for an Enforcement Specialist to be part of a dedicated IP & Brand Protection Team on Trust and Safety.  This is a full-time position reporting to the Team Lead, IP & Brand Protection.

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. The IP & Brand Protection Team safeguards rights holder’s intellectual property rights via enforcement of our Intellectual Property Policy. Our team also mitigates legal risk by responding to all requests for information in a timely and comprehensive manner.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Proficient in the application of Etsy policies and protocols in enforcement across listings, shops and entities.

  • Responsible for the timely review of core enforcement workflows within SLA (P0 tasks related to intellectual property enforcement and Legal Process)

  • Responsible for the timely review of sophisticated Admin-only high priority/high severity workflows within SLA (Providing a written response to various third-party requests for information, including those from law enforcement agencies, governmental agencies and 3rd party requestors)

  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of Etsy’s policies and products, including those related to: intellectual property, prohibited items including counterfeit goods, privacy and requests for information.

  • Responsible for the timely review of Seller appeals within SLA.

  • Responsible for supporting sensitive external escalations in review and actioning of violative listings and Shops, and communicating updates to Team Lead and/or Incident Commander.

  • Responsible for identifying abuse trends and patterns in core enforcement workflows and escalating to the Lead.

  • One of the ways we will measure your success in the role is you will consistently meet 100% of efficiency metrics and 90% + on QA monthly metrics.

  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 2+ years of experience with internet research skills.

  • 1 + years of DMCA or intellectual property (IP), online content moderation, fraud investigation or paralegal experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in applying policy and good judgment to sensitive subjects objectively.

  • Logical problem solver along with attention to details, and ability to operate in ambiguous situations.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently.

  • Ability to deal with obstacles and creative problem-solving skills to find quick and effective solutions.

  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to work Tuesday-Saturday between 10AM to 6PM.
