How you will create an impact

  • Underwrite risks in accordance with Talbot’s underwriting philosophy and within own authority limits.
  • Assist Head of Political Violence, Asia Pacific, in broker/client business development with a focus on expanding existing broker/client relationships.
  • Deliver technical Political Violence underwriting and high levels of service to our key clients/brokers.
  • Articulate our Political Violence underwriting appetite, product suite, and value proposition.
  • Ensure that Political Violence business is conducted, processed and administered in accordance with the prevailing applicable policies, procedures and agreed service levels.
  • Ensure that premium entries in Subscribe are reviewed and accurately maintained in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Act in accordance with all regulatory standards and principles at all times
  • Provide information and assistance as needed to ensure that other syndicate staff can carry out their responsibilities.
  • Make every reasonable effort to increase own knowledge, skills and expertise in order to: (i) Further personal development within the Class Underwriter role; (ii) Reach a position where promotion to a more senior role is feasible.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience of Lloyd’s / Company market in Underwriting / Broking.
  • Able to operate independently with little direction or guidance. Self-reliance, use of initiative- a ‘self-starter’.
  • Able to prioritize

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Verbal, written and professional presence and ability to communicate at all levels with excellent negotiation skills
