Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is seeking a Product Security Engineering Manager to lead Cyber Security activities in the Space and Launch portfolio. Knowledge of cybersecurity processes and procedures are required. Experience with accreditation and authorization activities per JSIG, DoD RMF and ICD 503 RMF, and/or NISPOM are required. Must be skilled in advising a work group regarding cybersecurity tasks, projects, and operations. Must be able to consistently and pro-actively recognize and work through a wide range of cybersecurity and product security engineering issues and resolve them quickly.  This position will require experience in program management, planning, organization, execution, proposals, multi-disciplinary engineering & analysis, and talent management. Understanding the fundamentals of cybersecurity is valuable, but more important is the application of those fundamentals to products such as satellites, ground systems, and complex systems of systems to produce safe, secure, and resilient products while sitting in Colorado Springs, CO or in Aurora, CO.

Qualified candidate will lead and manage a team of product security professionals deployed on multiple Boeing Space and Launch programs. You will be responsible for a diverse engineering team and ensuring that our engineers, and analysts are ready and able to deliver secure and resilient products and services to our customers. You will be charged with the planning, execution, and delivery of product security features, capabilities, and products.

The ideal candidate will have a history of high-level performance in the execution and leadership of product and cybersecurity engineering throughout the course of the engineering and operations lifecycles. Successful candidates are highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with external customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and cross-functional programs and environments. Candidates are expected to be strong advocates for product cybersecurity policies and processes as implemented on Boeing programs, and when needed, educate program leadership on the importance and requirements of product security.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for engineering quality, technical rigor, and the safe, secure, effective, and efficient execution of Product Security Engineering activities.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Lead system level cybersecurity integration of products and test planning and execution, to include functional validation as well as formal sell-off of requirements.
  • Provide leadership over planning, scheduling, risk management and opportunity capture activities for product security.
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments to ensure that cybersecurity and platform security requirements are being met.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Plan and manage program security work scope (Cost, Schedule, Technical Quality).
  • Understand various statements of work to prepare, schedule, coordinate, assign, and monitor engineering tasks.
  • Coach, counsel, mentor, and provide developmental opportunities for employees.
  • Perform employee performance management, hiring, retention, awards/recognition, and goal setting.
  • Executes to program staffing, hiring, critical skills, retention, and employee development plans.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science; or 10 or more year’s related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level III or higher (such as CISSP, CASP, CE, CISA, GCED, or GCIH).
  • Ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • Experience factoring and applying confidentiality, integrity, and availability considerations in all phases of the system development lifecycle.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Advanced studies in Product Security Engineering and/or other cybersecurity fields.
  • Experience working proposals and program start up activities.
  • Experience working with government customers and government programs.
  • Experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
