RESPONSIBILITIES / POSITION PURPOSE
The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) will be in charge of delivering updated scientific information to Infectious Diseases specialists in Mexico.
Provides support and the necessary medical and scientific information of Pfizer products to internal and external customers assuring compliance with Corporate and Local Procedures and applicable regulations providing full support to our local business objectives.
The role of the Medical Scientific Liaison will be to provide essential information which most of the time will be medical, but it can also be purely technical linked to other fields such as biology, pharmacology, etc., as personal, mailing or telephone contact, visiting key physicians countrywide.
Provide follow-up to the Medical-Marketing strategies aimed at the positioning and dissemination of scientific information about the new antibiotics in the Pfizer portfolio that have been launched, e.e. Provide follow-up and supervision to the clinical microbiology project during 2018 and 2019
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / MAJOR DUTIES
The Medical Scientific Liaison will have a constant interaction cross functional with different members of the Business Unit. The top priority of a MSL will be focused to strength physician’s relationship and scientific exchange.
MSL will actively engage in activities that support the strategic direction of anti-infective portfolio. Therefore, MSL will be exposed to key decision makers both within the organization and outside the company. As catalysts of collaboration between Pfizer and HCP.
MSL will be a key player to transmit updated information, research resources and business intelligence
Provide scientific information to HCPs involved in Pfizer Anti-Infective portfolio drugs to increase the knowledge about disease, its diagnosis and drug efficacy, safety and correct use.
Need to be aware of the latest medical/scientific information regarding Infectious Diseases as main responsibility.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, Medical Societies and academic centers to ensure their access to current medical and scientific information.
Prepare and develop the scientific information and materials to be discussed with the HCPs with the support advice and approval of the Medical Manager.
Conduct technical-scientific presentations to ensure accessibility of scientific information and to expand the current product knowledge.
Participate in medical events as part of the objectives in diffusion of scientific information.
Participate being part of the team in developing promotional materials (in as needed basis) and/or presentations from the medical perspective
Participate in medical educational programs and spread technical-scientiific information regarding the product and disease concepts, identifying competitive advantages or potential new uses of the target Pfizer antibiotic.
Work with the Medical Manager to partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for the development of treatment algorithms and guidelines.
Provide information to local experts to assist in keeping their slides lectures updated and ensuring they are into the compliance code.
Collaborate with the teams of medical-marketing-sales in the understanding of the flow of patients in key hospitals for the proper positioning of antibiotics in their development and evolution after the launch
MARKETING
Full involvement during the set up of new products, working together with Business Analytics and Insights area.
Collaborates during product launch process, including his/her participation in Strategic Planning/New Product meetings.
Engagement Programs together with the CBL/CPL.
Develops with Key Opinion Leaders material for scientific presentations of the products entrusted.
Provides input, feedback, and collaborates in Market Research activities as needed.
Periodic field work activities /visits with physicians now in separate sessions from Sales Representatives.
QUALITY STANDARDS

Attend all the required training meetings according to established timelines.
Knowledge and full participation on the Inspection Readiness Process and the applicable procedures before, during and after corporate audits or regulatory inspections

PROFILE / DESIRED TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
Previous experience as a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly in contact with Medical societies of interest, in continuous interaction and scientific exchange.
Medical knowledge in the assigned medical area of the products entrusted.
Medical degree required: Internal Medicine, or Infectious Diseases, Intensive Care or Microbiologist incluiding Chemist Biology, or Pharmaco-Biology, or master's in clinical microbiology
Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
Ability to prepare presentations and deliver public speeches
Scientific argumentation skills
Abilities in negotiation and effective communication
Excellent abilities in interpersonal influence
Handle computer software, specifically Microsoft Office, internet and other basic electronic tools
CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience of interaction with health workers related to infectious diseases and/or Microbiology
Work Location Assignment: Mexico City (Must be able to work from assigned Pfizer office 2-3 days per week, or as needed by the business)
