YAI supports people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving the fullest lives possible by creating new opportunities for living, loving, working and learning. YAI is a network of agencies with programs that empower and enhance the lives of thousands of people we support and their families. YAI promotes a person-centered approach by creating supports that cater to the specific needs of each person. Join our dynamic team teaching daily and independent living skills, providing individual and group counseling, and promoting community integration.  The DSP will have enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing their passion for the arts.

Without Walls (WOW) is an art program that provides opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York City to channel their creativity and become working artists. With the support of the DSP staff, WOW artists create work based on their unique interests. WOW artists enhance their skills, develop their careers, and experience New York's art scene.

WOW staff work with the Artists to deepening their creative practices and building community. WOW staff provide a space for artists to shape the direction of their programming based on their individual and collective goals and interests. Staff present and integrate a variety of professional materials and creative mediums, both traditional (e.g. drawing, painting and sculpture) and new (e.g. digital arts, animation) to engage the artist in creating unique and personalize artistry.

With the support of a DSP who will serve as an artist mentor, WOW artists hone their skills, bolster their careers, and build a community through a dynamic schedule of workshops, studio and museum visits, collaborative projects, and art exhibitions
