Job Description Summary

The Senior Asset Management Leader is responsible for asset strategies that drive optimal investment and disposition decisions across GE Vernova to improve cost of capital for machinery and equipment. By partnering with Global Supply Chain Teams, Sourcing, Finance, Development, and Engineering, this role will be integral in delivering financial savings throughout the entire equipment lifecycle. Beginning with CAPEX/OPEX savings during the budgeting and acquisition phase of equipment through dispositioning surplus/idle investments, this role will enhance our ability to reduce base costs, align to our sustainability goals, and off-set financial impairments as well as generating cash income for the business.

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Partner with business leaders and SME to define and expand GEV’s asset data strategy and taxonomy.
  • Oversee GEV’s four (4) phased end-to-end process for managing machines & equipment: planning, acquisition, operation & maintenance, disposition to improve cash and reduce CAPEX.
  • Partner with Sustainability teams to better facilitate an asset management strategy that leverages data, analytics, and strategic insights.
  • Collaborate w/ SME’s and potential external partners around creation of “Manufacturing Digital Twins”.
  • Establish KPIs to ensure the capital investment structure proposed is the best use of capital. Promote investment strategies (i.e., lease v. buy) that provides optimal benefits after considering install complexity, technology, proposed usage, and end of life value.
  • Maintain standard processes across GE Vernova for requesting, managing, refinancing, buying out, and ending operational lease schedules.  Mitigate accounting risks by ensuring all equipment leases are booked according to ASC 842, and early buyout options (EBOs) are included in the budget for CAPEX.
  • Maintain the existing Asset Redeployment process by encompassing all surplus machines & equipment in scope, including finished goods inventory, leased equipment, and obsolete program assets purchased as expense.  Ensure a consistent process is in place when the Business remarkets surplus assets to third-party buyers in an ‘As Is Where Is’ transaction.
  • Drive a culture of rigor around the idle asset annual inventory policy.
  • Work closely with the finance team to provide analyses and estimates to the business.
