Project Title:

Xenon lamp pre-burn effectiveness study

Project Description:

In-situ thickness measurement is one of the important aspects of CMP process, ensuring thickness data is available at the point of polishing to ensure consistent feedback to the tool for parameter tuning to keep the thickness within specifications. This is done through spectrophotometry involving the usage of Xenon lamp.

Scope:

In this project, students will have opportunity to learn and have:

• hands-on opportunity to work on CMP and its measurement tools,

• First-hand experience of Semiconductor Fab operations

• work with equipment team on optimizing 1st time maintenance success on CMP measurement tool through studying on the effectiveness of pre-burning Xenon lamp to increase turn on success rate and maintain the lamp intensity.

Deliverables:

• Data collection on different Xenon lamp pre-burn length effectiveness across multiple tools' iteration.

• Develop best known practice on the pre-burn length to increase lamp turn on success rate and maintain intensity across 1 life cycle.
