Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading, and hauling and materials handling.
JOB PURPOSE
The Workshop Planner will be responsible for working closely with the workshop team to plan for manpower and material requirements to meet delivery commitments.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Orders parts for all equipment related jobs
Organizes outgoing shipment of units
Prepares material and information packages for the workshop team before arrival of the unit
Updates scope of work and distributes as required
Places purchase orders for major components and outside services related to equipment jobs
Generates weekly backorder/expedite reports for Workshop Manager
Required to participate in weekly production meetings and prepare required data
Completes pertinent data collection and reporting as required by location
Required to participate in all workshop safety meetings
Complies with SMC safety policies and applicable government, industry regulations or requirements
Health and Safety: Identifies and reports any unsafe work habits
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 4 years related experience in a workshop rebuild planning capacity
EDUCATION
Associate degree or two year-College Diploma in Business Administration,
Project Management or Logistics.
COMPETENCIES
Computer systems literacy
Experience using Microsoft Projects
Strong report writing skills
Superior standard of interpersonal skills, which will contribute to teamwork, is required
Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team
An in depth understanding of customer business processes
Superior customer relations skills
Highly developed time management and organizational skills
High level of initiative, drive and determination to achieve goals and targets set for customer satisfaction
