Job Description Summary:

The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.

Job Duties Outlined

  • Provide medical care for palliative medicine consult service, general inpatient hospice service, and in outpatient clinical settings. On-call and weekend responsibilities are shared amongst the division.

  • Serve in a clinician educator role with responsibility for teaching Internal Medicine residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical settings.

  • Participate in regular educational and administrative conferences as directed by immediate supervisor, including participation on subcommittees relevant to area of practice or education.

  • Contribute to various research, educational and clinical initiatives related to specific areas of interest and expertise.

Required Qualifications

Education/Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Board Certified or Board Eligible in a specialty leading to Hospice and Palliative Medicine certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Work Experience: Experience in education at the medical student or resident level.
