We are searching for the best talent for a Regional Manager of Oncology Clinical Educators (OCEs) Solid Tumor. This is a field based position managing a regional team of OCE's in the New England Region (including: DE, ME, NH, VT, NY, MA, RI, CT, NJ, PA).
This is a field-based role available in all cities within DE, ME, NH, VT, NY, MA, RI, CT, NJ, PA. While specific cities are listed in the Locations section for reference, please note that they are examples only and do not limit your application. We invite candidates from any location to apply.
Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the OCE team is to provide on-label, company approved education to Oncology Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Pharmacists and Allied Health Care professionals (AHPs) in assigned accounts. The OCE also provides patient education upon request from advocacy groups. The Regional Manager will provide daily coaching, training and mentoring while setting performance expectation for day-to-day activity. The Regional Manager is accountable for metric-based team performance in alignment with brand strategy, providing oversight of all activities in accordance with current regulatory and health care compliance guidelines.
You will be responsible for:
Leading a team of Oncology Clinical Educators (OCEs) to provide on-label, company approved education to Oncology Nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Pharmacists and Allied Health Care professionals (AHPs) in assigned accounts and achieve/exceed educational goals.
Conducting routine team field visits and 1:1 meetings, providing in-person field coaching, observation, evaluating and directing educational and patient support initiatives.
Directing OCEs in the identification of treatment sites that can benefit from clinical education on Janssen’s Oncology portfolio
Ensuring each OCE territory plan is strategic, up to date and actionable.
Collaborating on development of performance goals and objectives at all levels and appropriate measures to ensure achievement.
Working with Leadership to define and establish appropriate behaviors and actions that will lead to improved Hematology/Oncology education for both HCPs and patients across the nation
Functioning as the primary liaison between the field-based OCE team and sales/marketing leadership.
Educational goal attainment and budget management
Serving as key OCE management liaison related to specific brand strategy.
Leading creation and implementation of OCE educational and field enablement strategies for the entire OCE Team.
Providing frequent, ongoing performance feedback to all direct reports and foster a team oriented, supportive working environment.
Ensuring that team functions are according to the business plan and company directives
Providing oversight responsibility for team’s training and development, ensuring appropriate training on and execution of educational initiatives and other permissible field activities.
Providing input into team optimal capacity, field activity level, and field metrics
Managing the team through special projects and cross functional support activities
Recruiting, selecting and hiring a qualified and diverse work force for the regional OCE team.
Providing career and succession planning in support of staff reaching their highest potential
timely completion of administrative duties. Examples include assessment and approval of expense reports, preparation and communication of team metric reports, among others.
Co-leading the communication of OCE team achievement updates to appropriate internal partners and levels of management
Participating in business planning activities as necessary across the various brands.
Leading the creation/implementation of OCE field collaborative strategies to ensure compliant partnership with other customer facing teams (eg. sales, MSLs, partner companies).
Ensuring effective and efficient collection and distribution of clinical insights to appropriate internal stakeholders.
Participating and/or leading cross functional/company initiatives
Providing an optimal working environment by promoting/functioning according to the Credo value, communication of a clear direction, active listening, respecting diversity, encouraging collaborative partnership, empowering direct reports, follow up on commitments, promoting innovation, and rewarding high performance
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Active RN license or Advanced Practice Nursing degree required
Required:
8+ years of work experience required
A minimum of 4+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry or clinical experience is required
A minimum of 2+ years of pharmaceutical industry or relevant people management experience or have enrolled in or completed a J&J Management Development program required
Demonstration of a passion to motivate and lead high-performing teams
Ability to develop strong partnerships and work cross functionally
Demonstration of excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Residence in, or willingness to relocate to the geography is required
Ability to travel locally and overnight 50-75% required
A valid driver’s license is required
Ability to schedule individual work-related travel (air, hotel, rental car as needed)
Ability to work evening hours as required
Preferred:
Oncology and/or Hematology experience preferred
Experience with specialty products (preferably Oncology and/or infusion) preferred
Experience as an oncology educator preferred
Certification as an oncology nurse preferred (i.e. OCN, AOCN, AOCNP, etc)
Knowledge and/or experience with direct to patient education initiatives preferred
Previous industry experience preferred
Previous experience in introducing new specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications a plus
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $137,000 to $235,750.
The Company maintains a highly competitive sales incentive compensation program. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for participation in this program in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan.
