Job Summary:
The Web Application Firewall (WAF) Engineer protects web applications against attacks by using a cloud-based WAF service to inspect all inbound traffic to the application. The engineer deploys and manages the WAF solution and monitors alerts for potential threats. They collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of the WAF service and respond quickly to incidents. This role requires expertise in security technologies and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deploy and manage a cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF) service to protect web applications from various types of attacks.
• Monitor WAF logs for potential threats and investigate incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate the WAF service seamlessly with their applications.
• Configure and customize the WAF rulesets based on the organization’s requirements.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends and recommend enhancements to improve the overall security posture of the organization.
• Document processes, procedures, and best practices related to WAF deployment and management.
• Assist in incident response efforts and coordinate with other security teams as needed.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 3-5 years experience in information technology
• Experience with web application security principles and best practices.
• Knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities and how to mitigate them.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Hands-on experience with configuring and managing a WAF service.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and firewall configurations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.  In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
