Position: Senior Storage Solutions Engineer
Responsibilities:
1. Perform installation, configuration, and optimization of storage systems to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
2. Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to support future storage growth and demand.
3. Implement data protection and disaster recovery strategies, including backup, replication, and failover solutions, leveraging the capabilities of VMAX, NetApp, and PowerMax, Nimble, Data-Domain platforms.
4. Monitor storage infrastructure health, performance, and utilization, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted operation.
5. Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and best practices, to facilitate knowledge transfer and compliance with organizational standards.
6. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in storage technologies, evaluating and recommending new solutions and features to enhance the storage infrastructure.
7. Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate, procure, and implement hardware and software upgrades or replacements as needed.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to other IT teams and end-users, troubleshooting storage-related issues and providing timely resolutions.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse business needs, translating them into technical requirements for storage solutions.
10. Participate in the planning and execution of storage-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and expansions, ensuring successful completion within established timelines and budgets.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications and industry training preferred.
2. Six years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise storage solutions, with expertise in VMAX, NetApp, and PowerMax, Nimble, Data-Domain platforms.
3. In-depth knowledge of storage architectures, technologies, and protocols, including SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS.
4. Experience with storage virtualization, thin provisioning, deduplication, compression, and other advanced storage features.
5. Proficiency in storage management and monitoring tools, such as Unisphere, OnCommand System Manager, and PowerMax Manager.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues and perform root cause analysis.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
8. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
