If so, our Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking Composite Laminator/ Composite Bonder Laminator 1 & 2 based in El Segundo, CA. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail, top focus on quality and excellent people skills

 

Job Functions:

  • Fabricate composite parts, which may include bonding prep, tool prep, ply kit generation, lamination, vacuum bagging, de-molding, trimming, and part handling

  • Handle perishable materials, paying close attention to expiration dates, out time life, and traceability information

  • Follows all planning, visual aids, and process work instructions.  These instructions, in combination with part specific tooling, are used to fabricate composite parts and bonded assemblies.

  • Operate handheld tools. (e.g.) Scissors, razor knives, grinders, drills, sanders, cutting wheels, etc.

  • Excels in a team environment, supports other departments or completes other duties as necessary

  • Work in both FOE critical and FOE sensitive environments and observe all related safety procedures

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Basic Qualification:

  • For a Level 1, minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of composite manufacturing/fabrication experience or approved composites certificate program.

  • For a Level 2, minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of composite manufacturing/fabrication experience or approved composites certificate program.

  • Basic computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft applications

  • Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work flexible/changing schedules including weekends.

  • Ability to work in El Segundo, CA 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Composite fabrication experience in an aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment

  • Demonstrated mechanical ability and able to work under limited supervision

  • Be able to operate autoclave and curing ovens

Salary Range: $52,000.00 - $78,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
