THE TEAM

Most of us had no previous experience working in music -- just a shared excitement about the space, a willingness to go to concerts / venues / festivals when needed as part of the job, and a desire to go to concerts / venues / festivals in our free time, too.  

The Marketing Insights and Data Analytics Services team within the Marketing & Data Strategy organization works on projects across all divisions, to develop insights around Fans and Marketing programs. These insights are used to inspire new marketing programs and improve existing marketing efforts across Concerts, Ticketmaster, and Sponsorship business units. We are also responsible for quantifying the value of our marketing efforts through our test and learn program, incrementality testing and attribution thought leadership.  

THE ROLE 
 

The Senior Analyst, Data & Dashboard will lead data enablement and dashboard projects for optimal usage and consumption of data assets for Live Nation Concerts marketing teams. They will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, usability, and accessibility of data utilization deliverables. They will provide the best dashboards and reporting tools for business stakeholders across the organization. 

 

The position will design and develop exceptional Tableau dashboards that are user-friendly, visually appealing and tailored to meeting the specific needs of stakeholders. This person will ensure that dashboards provide actionable insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making. This person will be the Tableau and dashboard subject matter expert and will mentor and guide analysts on all aspects of designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards. They will have a deep understanding of Tableau capabilities, addressability, usability best practices, and tips and tricks to help others develop better and more efficient dashboards. 

 

This position will support the consolidation of data pipelines, provide best practices in data governance, and share their understanding of efficient data models that are tailored to the business. They will investigate data issues and anomalies, conducting root cause analysis to ensure data accuracy and reliability and work with Data QA analyst for long-term solutions. 

 

They will be the liaison among different functional teams and provide high-quality data and dashboard support for marketing teams. They will have a deep understanding of business needs and challenges, proposing both short-term and long-term solutions that leverage data analytics to drive strategic initiatives. They will lead projects from conception to execution with minimum to no supervision, coordinating efforts across teams to ensure successful implementation of data initiatives that align with business objectives 

 

The ideal candidate will be an expert in data utilization deliverables, solution-oriented, curious, and always be on the lookout for value-added initiatives. There will be a significant amount of ownership and opportunity to lead high-profile projects and deliver high impact data products. 

 

This person will report to the Senior Marketing Data Analytics Manager.  

 

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO 

  • Ensure the optimal usage and optimal consumption of analytics dashboards. 

  • Increase the visibility and reliability of every layer of transformations in Tableau, including server and cloud. 

  • Increase the addressability of data assets connected to Tableau server for optimal performance. 

  • Design and conduct the best way of utilization Tableau and upstream tools. 

  • Support, promote and adhere to the dashboard program. 

  • Refine the existing dashboards and provide suggestions for better usability and efficiency. 

  • Be the Tableau and dashboard subject matter expert - mentor Marketing Analysts and support them with dashboarding best practices, state-of-the-art design and optimization to help our entire team deliver the best dashboards possible. 

  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights. 

  • Maintain updated Confluence dashboard documentation for all released Tableau dashboards. 

  • Maintain the integrity of dashboards by validating and ensuring the data being provided from the data enablement team is correctly represented in dashboards. 

  • Ensure compliance with data governance and data security requirements while developing Tableau solutions. 

  • Troubleshoot and perform data quality checks to ensure the highest level of accuracy in dashboards and reports. 

  • Enable new and high-quality data and reporting assets to meet evolving needs. 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, pain points, and gather their requirements and expectations. 

  • Investigate the data issues and anomalies raised by various stakeholders and follow up with clarification, root cause and actionable solutions. 

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college ideally in business or quantitative subject (e.g., Computer Science, Marketing Science, Marketing Analytics, Business Analytics, etc.). 

  • 3+ years of work experience in data integration, profiling, monitoring, and validation. 

  • 3+ years hands-on experience as a Tableau Developer or in a similar role, preferably working with media and CRM marketing performance data. 

  • Demonstrated experience in designing effective data visualizations that enhance user engagement and drive insights. 

  • Proficiency in data analysis and programming languages such as SQL, Python, preferred. 

  • Understanding of key media performance data and metrics including ROAS, ROI, CAC, Contribution Margin, etc.  

  • Understanding of key CRM performance data and measures and metrics including deliveries, click rate, unsubscribe rate, conversion rate, etc. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively convey concepts to both technical and non-technical teams. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on quality and attention to detail; able to develop and use structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions. 

  • High level of autonomy in a global, fast-paced environment, with excellent time management skills to resolve multiple interrupt-driven priorities concurrently. 

  • Committed and able to adapt quickly; ability to work autonomously while ensuring that new knowledge is shared with other teams. 

  • Ability to work on Pacific coast time (available for meetings from 9am to 4pm PST time) 

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING:  TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES  

  • Proficient in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server. 
  • Proficiency in writing and running complex SQL queries for ad-hoc data analysis and validation. 
  • Advanced Python, R, etc., knowledge and applied experience. 
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehouse principles. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Project or program management experience
  • Experience managing and/or mentoring junior team members. 
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization and analytic dashboard development, experience with Tableau (preferred), Domo, Power BI, Shiny, or other platforms. 
  • Thorough knowledge and applied experience with marketing strategy and analytics design and delivery. 
  • Ability to manage internal stakeholders at varying levels. 
  • Ability to create a team environment and support and buy in from peers for processes and best practices. 
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency, business value and impact. 
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in situations with uncertainty and ambiguity. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and analysis (such as regression, clustering, etc.) is beneficial. 

Desired:

  • Tableau certification – Tableau Consultant desired, Tableau Desktop Specialist minimum. 
  • A good understanding of statistical modelling knowledge or any machine learning technique knowledge (regression, logistic regression, random forest, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of clickstream and conversion data (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, AppsFlyer). ETL and streaming data orchestration experience (e.g., PySpark). 
  • Experience working in Entertainment or Live Events industry.
