REPORTS TO:  Set Up-Conversion Manager and Event Operations Manager

The Role:

Under the direct supervision of the Set-Up/Conversion Manager, this position performs physical tasks related to the setup, conversion, and breakdown of convention center events. Responsibilities include preparing the facility for shows and events, maintaining assigned areas, operating equipment, and supporting operational needs to ensure a safe, clean, and successful event environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the facility for events and shows, including the setup and breakdown of chairs, tables, staging, pipe and drape, risers, barricades, and other event-related equipment as assigned.
  • Read, understand, and follow event work orders, diagrams, and setup instructions.
  • Coordinate work with other operational departments to ensure efficient event execution.
  • Perform interior and exterior cleaning of the facility before, during, and after events.
  • Collect, transport, and dispose of waste and recyclables, including bulk trash removal throughout the facility.
  • Clean and maintain assigned areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, floor scrubbers, and company vehicles safely and in accordance with training and operational standards.
  • Assist with room resets, event conversions, and other operational needs as required.
  • Identify and report facility maintenance concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and organized working environment.
  • Adhere to Legends Global policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience          

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in event setup, conversions, housekeeping, operations, or facility maintenance in a convention center, arena, stadium, hotel, or similar public assembly facility preferred.

Skills and Abilities  

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing event schedules and operational needs.
  • Ability to read, understand, and accurately follow written and verbal instructions, including event work orders and facility diagrams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and tools used in event setup, facility maintenance, and housekeeping functions.
  • Dependable and punctual, reporting to work as scheduled and in proper uniform and badge.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business needs require.

Location: On Site, Broward County Convention Center
