POSITION: Front of House Intern     

DEPARTMENT: Guest Services/Box Office   

REPORTS TO:  Manager, Guest Services & Box Office                     

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt 

Summary  

The goal of the Front of House Intern position is to explore opportunities to improve the guest experience for Target Center events with an ingress (entry point) focus. This position will anchor collaboration between the Box Office and Guest Services department with goal of streamlining the resolution of ticketing issues while maintaining the highest standard of guest experience. This position will primarily report to the Box Office Manager with other supervisor duties shared by the Manager and Assistant Manager of the Guest Services department.

The Front of House intern will gain first-hand knowledge of front of house operations for large scale events which will be a valuable addition to their resume as they graduate and seek full-time employment. Through the internship the candidate will gain detailed knowledge of the AXS and Ticketmaster ticketing platforms and their associated technology that can be applied at any venue beyond Target Center. Candidate will also expand on existing customer service and resolution skills as they work alongside Target Center staff to optimize guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Guest Services & Box Office departments in daily administrative tasks. 
  • Set up 612 Desk for AXS or Ticketmaster resolution.
  • Prepare and distribute ticket scanners for gate staff.
  • Act as a first point of contact for ticket resolution at gates 1-11.
  • Resolve issues at the gate or escort guests to the 612 Desk for further assistance.
  • Assist with any guest services issues within the venue during events.
  • Assist with VIP guest check-ins.
  • Any other guest service duties needed before, during, or shortly after venue events.

Desired Qualifications and Skills 

  • Currently pursuing a college degree in a related field with an interest in working live events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service required.
  • Event experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Priority given to students preparing to enter final academic year.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
