POSITION TITLE: Student Employee, Theatre
STATUS: Part time
DEPARTMENT: Fine arts
DIVISION: Academic Affairs
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
UNION: Non-union
REPORTS TO: Department Chair
MINIMUM PAY RATE: $14.00 per hour.
(Position is FWS Eligible)
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assisting in execution of designs for JJC Theatre Productions.
2. Assisting in staffing of JJC musical events and/or rental.
3. Assisting in front of house operations for all productions and concerts.
4. Office duties (filing, computer, photocopying, etc.).
5. Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. 2.5 GPA or higher and in good standing with JJC.
2. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JJC.
3. Practical experience in the use of hand and power tools.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
5. Accuracy in tabulations of money.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
7. HOURS: Flexibility in hours and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Previous theatrical work.
2. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
3. Students planning to continue work in theatre encouraged to apply.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Duties are performed in an indoor environment
Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
