Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, integration, and implementation of rail systems, including fixed and moving block signaling (CBTC, UTO, Positive Train Control) and traction power systems (catenary, OCS, third rail).
Provide expertise in transportation systems design for high-speed, mass-transit, commuter rail, and APM systems.
Manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-value rail and transit projects.
Ensure project objectives are met through effective planning, resource management, and quality assurance practices.
Cultivate and expand relationships with clients, suppliers, and consultants to drive growth in the rail and transit sectors.
Lead proposal development, supplier selection, and tendering processes for national and international opportunities.
Oversee system safety, RAM/LCC analysis, and safety case development to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Implement robust testing, commissioning, and certification processes for signaling and rolling stock systems.
Serve as a key liaison with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, funding, and execution.
Act as a thought leader, representing the organization at industry events and in technical forums.
Assist the Rail & Transit Sector with building and maintaining a strong railroad systems team. Assist in the identification, recruiting and retention of top notch, experienced staff for the systems team.
Interface with FTA, FRA, various railroad owner and operators, and other public agencies involved in rail/transit projects.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical engineering field required.
Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or other relavent Systems Engineering certifcations from agencies such as MTA, NJTA, SEPTA, Amtrak, WMATA, etc.
A deep understanding of global rail systems and emerging technologies.
Extensive experience with major rail industry suppliers, including Alstom, Bombardier, Siemens, and Thales.
Strong knowledge of signaling systems, including Siemens TrainGuard, Bombardier CityFlo, Alcatel/Thales SelTrac, and ALSTOM Urbalis.
Expertise in APM systems and driverless/UTO applications.
Proven leadership in construction management, test and commissioning, and system safety practices.
OSHA Safety certifications
Global project experience in North America, Europe, and Australasia, with a strong network in the rail industry.
