Job Description:
What you'll be doing
- Own engineering execution including delivery, quality, and team health for a backend-heavy product team
- Run hiring: define roles, lead interviews, make calibrated offers
- Drive performance management: clear expectations, regular feedback, and growth plans
- Partner with product and clinical stakeholders to scope work and keep commitments
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and hold the technical bar across the team
- Remove blockers, reduce friction, and keep the team moving with focus
Required skills
- Strong hands-on background in Python/Django, React, and AWS
- Systems thinker: can reason about distributed systems, failure modes, scalability, and long-term design tradeoffs
- Track record managing engineers in a product company — shipping features, not just maintaining processes
- Strong communicator: written and verbal, up to leadership and across to peers
- Organized under ambiguity — can manage multiple workstreams without losing detail
Nice to have
- Background in healthcare, compliance-heavy, or data-sensitive domains
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tooling and how it changes team velocity
