Service Rig Floor Hand

Where will you work: Onsite – Belle Plaine, Saskatchewan


About the role

Responsible to safely carry out numerous tasks on a service rig in an industrial setting including Rig Maintenance, Equipment Maintenance, Housekeeping & 5S, Training Modules, Safety Training, participate in the BBS safety program, Operation of power tongs, Operation of the laydown trailer, stocking and maintain parts inventory.

What you’ll do?


50% Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Operate and maintain service rig equipment.

  • Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping duties.

  • Maintain the highest level of safety in all tasks.

25% Training & Mentorship

  • Actively participate in training and be receptive to mentorship from the Derrickman and Operator.

  • Demonstrate and uphold Mosaic’s core values.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with other departments and site personnel.

10% Safety Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure you and your crew complete high‑quality Safe Work Plans.

  • Conduct daily rig and equipment inspections.

  • Identify hazards and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.

10% Communication & Skill Development

  • Communicate openly with your crew regarding task details, safety concerns, or questions.

  • Remain open to learning and continually improving the skills required to become a successful Floor hand.

5% Meetings & Engagement

  • Participate actively in morning shift start‑ups.

  • Attend and complete monthly safety meetings and required training sessions.

What you’ll need:

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Fall Arrest, First Aid, or other relevant safety training is an asset but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Service rig experience is preferred.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude is advantageous.

  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, cables, and pulleys is preferred.

Knowledge

  • General understanding of equipment operation, including rigs and heavy equipment.

Computer Skills

  • Willingness to learn and complete training in Wellview and Maximo.

  • Strong commitment to safe work practices.

  • Respectful and collaborative attitude toward co-workers.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and mechanical aptitude.

  • Willingness to follow, reinforce, and continuously improve policies and procedures.

Licensing

  • A valid Class 3A or 1A Saskatchewan Driver’s License is preferred; a minimum Class 5 license is required.
